The steel components are designed for dependable outdoor performance, so you should not experience issues with the frame’s performance under normal outdoor conditions. However, the finished gate’s lifespan and appearance also depend on the wood used. We recommend protecting all wood frame rails and pickets with an appropriate sealant and maintaining them as needed.
This versatile kit can be used to build gates for fences, driveways, decks, patios, animal stalls, barns, gardens, pools, farms, ranches, and more.
Yes, the Adjust-A-Gate® Universal Gate Kit is engineered for professional-grade performance, making it ideal for both residential and commercial gates.
To install the Adjust-A-Gate® Universal kit, you will need a level, power bit driver, pencil or marker, cable cutting pliers, measuring tape, and a saw. For safety, be sure to wear eye protection, work gloves, and closed-toe shoes. For more information on installation see the installation instructions.
The kit can be customized on-site for gates up to 72 inches high and/or 84 inches wide. The finished gate dimensions and weight will vary, based on the wood or pickets selected.
For especially wide or tall openings, consider using two gate kits to create a double-drive gate. This reduces the weight supported by each gate and places less stress on the lumber.
For more information on installation see the installation instructions.
All essential hardware is included in the kit. The only additional material you need is wood for the gate itself. For more information on installation see the installation instructions.
Designed with ease of assembly in mind, the kit provides a complete solution for replacing a failing gate or building a new one. It is assembled on-site, allowing you to customize the gate to fit your specific opening. Detailed installation instructions are included.
Adjust-A-Gate® Universal Gate Kit installation instructions.
The Adjust-A-Gate® Universal is designed and tested for use with 2x4 lumber. Using wider lumber may add substantial weight and could affect gate performance, so we recommend following the installation instructions or contacting our support team before using another lumber size.
Yes. The gate can be configured to open inward or outward based on which side of the post the hinge plates are installed. However, it cannot swing freely in both directions because the striker bar limits it to one direction. For more information on installation see the installation instructions.

Yes! The Adjust-A-Gate® kits are designed with ease of installation in mind, suitable for DIY enthusiasts as well as professionals. They come with comprehensive instructions and all necessary hardware, aiming to simplify the process of assembling and installing a durable and adjustable gate for both wood and composite fencing.
To ensure your Adjust-A-Gate® remains in optimal condition, it's essential to conduct regular maintenance checks. Periodically inspect and tighten any hardware that may have become loose over time. Make adjustments to the gate frame and truss cable as necessary, ensuring your gate always operates smoothly. In addition to these steps, incorporate a cleaning routine to remove dirt and debris, which will preserve the gate's aesthetic and structural integrity. Regularly examining your gate for signs of wear or damage and addressing these issues promptly will guarantee that your gate continues to function reliably and remains secure for years to come.
Yes, two Adjust-A-Gate® Original AG36 kits can be used together to create a double gate setup. The gates can be effectively latched to each other using a drop rod kit, which secures one of the gates in place to provide stability and security for the double gate configuration.
Possibly, depending on the total opening between the posts. A single AG36-series gate can fit an opening up to 60 inches, while a single AG60-series gate can fit an opening up to 96 inches. Openings wider than 96 inches require a double-drive configuration or another appropriately sized solution.
The holes are used to attach the 2x4 wood rails to the steel frame. You do not need to use every hole provided. Focus on the hole's nearest to the center of the expansion bars that remain accessible at your selected frame width. Three properly positioned screws are generally sufficient to secure each wood rail to the frame.

Adjust-A-Gate® Fit-Right®
The gate kit includes a latch and other assembly hardware; however, post hinges are sold separately. Because post types and installation applications vary, you will need to select post hinges with 5/8-inch pins that are appropriate for your type of post.
Begin by accurately measuring the installation area to ensure a precise fit. Detailed installation instructions are included with your kit, guiding you through each step of the process for a successful setup.
Before installation, spread the chainlink out on a flat surface to align all the diamonds. This step is crucial for ensuring a smooth and even application of the chainlink onto the gate frame, resulting in a secure and aesthetically pleasing finish.

Lifetime Steel Post®
Lifetime Steel Post® is available in Black with Double Powdercoat Finish and Galvanized with Clear Powdercoat Finish.
Lifetime Steel Post® provides a durable alternative to traditional wood posts. Unlike wood, steel will not warp, rot, or experience pest damage. Its design also supports easier handling during installation, while the protective powder-coated finish helps it withstand outdoor conditions, for many years.
Yes, it can be used with different types of fencing materials!
A doubled post configuration is not typically necessary when using Lifetime Steel Post®. However, gate posts should always be installed in concrete, regardless of how your remaining fence-line posts are installed.
Post depth depends on local soil, climate, frost-line requirements, and installation methods. A minimum depth of approximately 24 inches may be appropriate for some concrete-set installations, but northern markets may require depths of up to 48 inches to extend below the frost line.
When directly driving posts, many professionals recommend approximately 12 additional inches of embedment. For example, a post that would normally be set in 24 inches in concrete may require approximately 36 inches of driven depth. Always confirm local requirements before selecting a post length.
Lifetime Steel Post®'s are designed to offer unparalleled support and compatibility with a wide range of fencing types. They are ideally suited for wood construction fences, accommodating various styles including diagonal, vertical, or horizontal orientations. Additionally, these posts are compatible with Euro Style picket fences, ensuring a versatile solution for nearly any fencing project. Their robust construction provides a durable and long-lasting foundation for your fencing needs.
Installation of Lifetime Steel Post®'s is DIY-friendly. However, if the terrain is challenging, the project is complex, or safety is a concern, professional assistance may be wise.
Lifetime Steel Post® products come with a limited lifetime warranty, ensuring your investment is protected.
Perimeter Patrol®
Perimeter Patrol® stands out as a flexible and temporary fencing solution, designed for easy mobility and storage. It's particularly effective for managing events and controlling crowds, offering a versatile alternative to more permanent fencing options.
Absolutely! Perimeter Patrol® is built to withstand various environmental conditions, thanks to its two-stage powder coating process. This treatment helps to prevent weathering and corrosion, ensuring the fence's longevity across different terrains and weather scenarios.
Keep the panels clean and inspect the clamps, bases, and finish periodically. When the system is not in use, the Perimeter Patrol® transport and storage pallets provide an organized way to protect and store the panels and accessories.
Perimeter Patrol® panels offer a standard dimension of 6 feet in height and 7.5 feet in width, providing optimal coverage. To tailor the fencing to your specific needs, measure the linear feet of the area you wish to enclose. For enhanced security, a 1-foot tall no-climb extension panel can be added, allowing for customization in both size and design to suit various applications.
Each Perimeter Patrol® panel is available in dimensions of 6 feet in height and 7.5 feet in width. For additional security measures, a 1-foot tall no-climb extension panel can also be added. Our panels are finished with a durable powder coating in vibrant yellow and sleek black, offering both aesthetic appeal and high visibility.
The 87-inch-wide panels can be handled more easily by one worker than many standard 10-foot temporary fence panels. The wire mesh is welded inside the frame, minimizing exposed sharp edges and helping protect workers and pedestrians. No-trip base plates, clamps, and optional ground spikes also support stable installation.
Perimeter Patrol® is versatile and ideal for a variety of settings, including events, construction sites, and crowd control. Its design and features make it adaptable to meet the needs of different environments, ensuring safety and order.
Perimeter Patrol® provides a strong visual and physical deterrent around temporary work areas. Its wire mesh is welded directly to the steel frame, making the infill more difficult to separate or breach than the chain-link mesh found on many standard temporary fencing panels.
Remove any no-climb extensions first, followed by the clamps. Carefully lift each panel out of its bases. The panels, bases and accessories can then be organized on the Perimeter Patrol® for transport and storage pallets to help protect the system between uses.
Euro Fence
The Euro Fence system uses extruded and machined aluminum components with a powder-coated finish. The infill consists of wood-plastic composite tongue-and-groove boards designed for durable, low-maintenance outdoor use.
Euro Fence can be installed using in-ground posts set approximately 24 inches in concrete or surface-mount posts for appropriate applications. Gate posts should always be installed in concrete.
Posts must be spaced at no more than 72 inches on center, to accommodate the 71.5-inch infill boards. Fence sections may be narrower, as the rails, components and infill boards can be cut to fit.
Local soil, climate, frost-line, and building requirements may require a deeper post installation.
We also provide detailed instructions and support to guide you through the process smoothly. Note: Installation Instructions can be found here; EuroFence Gate installations instructions are on pages 11-13 of the instructions guide.
Euro Fence is available in 4-foot and 6-foot fence heights. Standard sections accommodate infill boards measuring 71.5 inches wide, with posts spaced no more than 72 inches on center. Components and boards can be cut to create narrower sections.
The Euro Fence comes in three colors designed to complement a variety of outdoor aesthetics: Oxford Grey, King Cedar, and Black Rose.
Yes! The Euro Fence is engineered to withstand diverse weather conditions, ensuring durability and longevity. Whether you're dealing with scorching sun, heavy rain, or frosty temperatures, our fences are built to last, providing peace of mind and minimal weather-related wear and tear.
The Euro Fence is designed for low maintenance, allowing you to enjoy its beauty without the hassle of constant upkeep. An occasional cleaning with mild soap and water is all that's needed to keep your fence looking as good as new. Its durable materials resist common fencing issues like rot, rust, and fading.
Yes. Euro Fence can be customized by selecting a 4-foot or 6-foot configuration, choosing from available composite infill colors and cutting sections to fit narrower spaces. Current configurations use wood plastic composite infill boards.
